LOOK Nº 1
This look was created as the first part of my three-look senior thesis collection. Inspired by moth-eaten clothes, it features distressing on the pants that reveals a layer of lace underneath. The pants were
created by quilting suiting and lace fabrics together. The suiting was then ripped away in sections to reveal the lace beneath.
The top was designed to complement the
pants, featuring ruffles and fluttery lace sleeves to evoke the fragility of moth wings and antique items.
LOOK Nº 2
The second look features torn strips of ruffled fabric organza and silk with a hand-embroidered jacket in the shape of a moth's wings. It follows a similar pattern to the preceding look, combining
structured elements with flowy, deilcate details.
For this look, the focal point is the velvet jacket, which is an evolved version of a
tailored jacket I had made a year prior. The design is reminiscent of the wings of the promethea moth, my primary inspiration behind the collection.
LOOK Nº 3
Look number three is composed of three parts: a petticoat, skirt, and corset. The petticoat was made with over 40 yards of gathered tulle, and the corset is fully boned.
Similar to look one, this gown was heavily inspired by moth eaten clothes. The overskirt and petticoat have been torn and frayed. To complete the look, small embroidered moth applique were added
throughout the petticoat and on parts of the overskirt.
